Job summary

Flagship Pioneering is seeking a Principal/Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of customer-facing features across the full stack. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and ML researchers to translate customer needs into high-impact features and own them through the full lifecycle.

You will design scalable architectures for AI-enabled back-end components, contribute to UI/UX decisions, and improve delivery with CI/CD, testing, and security best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Proficient in Python.
• Extensive experience with AWS services (ECS, S3, Lambda, etc.) or similar cloud provider.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable, secure software applications.
• Motivated and team oriented with multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of customer-facing features across front-end and back-end stacks.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and researchers to translate needs into features.
• Own features end-to-end from discovery to release and iteration.
• Manage release processes including rollout planning and feature flags.
• Use analytics and feedback to guide feature development.
• Design scalable architectures for AI-enabled back-end components.
• Contribute to UI/UX decisions with technical insight.
• Improve delivery via CI/CD, automated testing, and best practices.
