Job summary

Flagship Pioneering’s FL105 is seeking an experienced Principal/Senior Software Engineer to lead customer-facing features across the full stack. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and ML researchers to translate customer needs into high-impact solutions using Python and AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on building applications.
• Extensive experience with AWS services (ECS, S3, Lambda, etc) or a similar cloud services provider.
• Proficient in Python.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable, efficient, and secure software applications.
• Motivated and team oriented, with an ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Preferred: experience with LLM development.
• Preferred: AWS Certifications, such as Solutions Architect Associate or Professional.
• Able to build applications using the AWS CDK and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of security best practices for SaaS solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of customer-facing features across front-end and back-end stacks.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and researchers to translate customer needs into high-impact features.
• Own features through the full product development lifecycle from discovery to iteration.
• Manage the release processes including rollout planning, feature flags, monitoring, and coordination across teams.
• Use product analytics and customer feedback to evaluate feature performance and guide development.
• Design scalable system architecture for AI-enabled back-end components.
• Contribute to UI/UX decisions with technical input.
• Improve delivery practices with CI/CD, automated testing, and operational best practices.
• Leverage AWS to build scalable, reliable, AI-powered services.
• Uphold data security, privacy, and compliance across all applications.
