Flagship Pioneering invites an experienced Principal/Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of customer-facing features across front-end and back-end stacks in a fast-paced AI-focused environment. You will partner with product, design, and ML research teams to translate customer needs into high-impact capabilities, owning features end-to-end and guiding technical strategy.

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with AWS services (ECS, S3, Lambda) or similar cloud.
• Proficient in Python.
• Build scalable, secure software applications.
• Motivated, team oriented with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of customer-facing features across front-end and back-end stack.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and researchers to translate needs into features.
• Own features through full product development lifecycle from design to release and iteration.
• Manage release process including rollout planning, feature flags, monitoring, and cross-team coordination.
• Use product analytics and customer feedback to guide development and measure impact.
• Design scalable architecture for AI-enabled back-end components.
• Contribute to UI/UX decisions with technical insight.
• Improve delivery practices with CI/CD and automated testing.
