Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States (Arizona) seeks a senior avionics software leader to design, implement and manage complex systems. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and lead a team of software engineers, driving projects to completion while mentoring teammates.

You will collaborate with cross-functional groups to define software requirements, develop high-quality solutions, and stay current with industry trends and best practices in avionics software engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
12+ years of experience in avionics software across TCAS, Transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT.
Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly.
Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of design patterns, architecture, and best practices.
U.S. export control eligibility required.

Play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems
Work within cross-functional teams on cutting-edge projects that transform aircraft operation

Requirements

Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another related field.
Minimum 12 years of experience working in various application areas supporting Avionics functions, Navigation and Airborne Surveillance (TCAS, Transponder, ADS-B, DME, UAT).
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Assembly
Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
Deep understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and architecture principles.
Ability to manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies effectively.
Due to U.S. export control laws, candidates must be U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status under asylum or refugee.
