Job summary

RTX is seeking a senior build systems engineer to serve as the technical lead for the Patriot software program. You will drive architecture, configuration, and scalability of build processes across Ada and shell scripting, collaborating with DevSecOps and testing teams to ensure secure, compliant workflows.

You will mentor junior engineers, support milestones and audits, and help evolve tooling such as APEX, VectorCast, and static analysis.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government-issued Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with APEX, ADA 95, Git, and Clearcase version control tools.
• Experience with software integration and testing for embedded or real-time systems.
• Experience in Python or Bash scripting for automation tools and test frameworks.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with APEX, ADA 95, Git, and Clearcase version control tools.
• Experience with performing software integration and testing for embedded or real-time systems.
• Experience in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for the development of automation tools and test frameworks.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Knowledge of software release management and deployment best practices
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• Exceptional attention to detail to identify and document any anomalies or inconsistencies in software performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively diagnose and address issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively report defects, progress, and test results to stakeholders.

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
