We are seeking a motivated Software Section Leader to join the Maritime Systems and Platforms Software Department. The Software Section Leader provides technical leadership, people management, and strategic direction for a software engineering section within the organization. This role oversees staffing, career development, execution quality, and alignment with program, department, and business goals.

The Section Leader enables high‑performing teams by driving engineering rigor, promoting collaboration, and ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.

What You Will Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers across multiple projects and programs.

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Interim Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

We Prefer

• Experience in defense, aerospace, or mission‑critical systems engineering.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks, DevSecOps practices, and cloud‑native architectures.
• Experience with Department of Defense security requirements and compliance standards.
• Proven ability to build and sustain high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
