Job summary

KBR’s Missile, Aviation, and Ground Systems (MAGS) division seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead architecture and delivery of software for a new Modeling and Simulation Lab. You will drive integration with existing systems, analyze new tech insertions, and ensure robust communication between devices, databases, and services.

The role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration with in-house and DoD-government customers, and willingness to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in CS or STEM with 10+ years of experience.
• Master’s degree in CS or related STEM with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with Agile methods and Jira.
• Experience integrating COTS/GOTS products and APIs.
• Familiarity with Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems.
• Programming in Java, C, C++, MATLAB, Python.
• GIT, Gitlab, or DevOps experience.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret Clearance; 15% travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and development of software for the modeling lab.
• Research technology insertions and integrate with existing systems.
• Develop APIs to enhance interoperability among products.
• Demonstrate software capabilities to government customers.
