Job description

A leading technology company located in Southwestern Ohio is looking for a Principal Sensor Engineer. Must be willing to relocate to Southwest Ohio.

Job Duties
  • Manage research and product development projects in nuclear and radiation science and technology
  • Conduct experiments and tests utilizing instrumentation to detect radiation
  • Analyze data using data analysis software
  • Develop computer models and simulations to analyze radiation sensors and predict behavior under real-time conditions
  • Provide technical support to projects related to radiation — design reviews, safety analysis, regulatory compliance
  • Develop technical documentation including reports, specifications, and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, physicists, technicians, and operations
  • Stay up-to-date by participating in industry conferences and technical meetings
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for radiation facilities and systems
Qualifications
  • PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in nuclear engineering research and development
  • Technical knowledge of nuclear materials, systems, and radiation protection
  • Solid background with instrumentation and measurement techniques for radiation detection
  • Experience with data acquisition methods and high-impedance circuit design
  • Knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking
  • Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and knowledge with Ion chambers
  • Experience with designing digital filters and digital signal processing
  • Predictive data analysis experience with machine learning
