Job summary

Upstart is seeking a Principal Security Product Manager to define the vision and roadmap for AI-powered security capabilities. You will translate security, regulatory, and business needs into products adopted by engineers, delivering measurable risk reductions.

Lead security product initiatives across vulnerability management, automation, and risk visibility, shaping regulations-ready design and reporting. Remote in the US with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of product management experience, including at least 3 years owning security, risk, developer-facing, or platform products.
• Experience owning complex technical products from vision through launch, adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement.
• Experience partnering with engineering to define technical requirements, scope MVPs, prioritize roadmaps, and make build-versus-buy decisions.
• Experience with security domains such as vulnerability management, application security, cloud security, security automation, or remediation workflows.
• Experience defining and measuring product success using adoption, usage, quality, risk, or other quantitative metrics.

Responsibilities

• Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for critical security capabilities, prioritizing investments by user needs, risk, value, and regulatory requirements.
• Translate pain points into clear requirements, scope MVPs, sequence releases, and guide build/buy decisions.
• Drive adoption of security products and workflows through measurable metrics and feedback.
• Shape an AI-powered security platform spanning reviews, testing, remediation, risk scoring, and reporting.
• Incorporate regulatory and audit requirements into product design with evidence trails and controls.
• Communicate strategy and outcomes to Information Security leadership and senior stakeholders.
