Job summary

MongoDB is hiring a Principal Security Engineer to serve as a senior technical anchor in the Global Security Organization. You will stay hands-on with hard security and architecture problems and push for risk-aware decisions.

The role collaborates with product teams on identity and permission models, and with integration security teams to drive automated detection, reproduction, and remediation of vulnerabilities using AI. Remote in NA eligible.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical depth across compute, network, and storage architecture.
• Experience forming independent technical positions and defending them.
• Ability to mentor senior engineers and influence cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Maintain deep technical depth in security and product architecture to evaluate actual risk.
• Form independent opinions on security decisions and drive alignment.
• Lead cross-functional engagements such as M&A security due diligence and partner risk assessments.
• Mentor and grow a community of senior ICs within security operations and product security.
