Job summary

Circle is seeking a Principal Security Engineer for its Security Team. You will drive detection, response, and security engineering across blockchain, cloud, and AI surfaces, including on‑call rotations and incident leadership. Strong collaboration across engineering teams and a focus on reducing risk are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in detection, response, or security engineering.
• 3+ years of experience leading security incidents with engineering teams.
• Deep cloud security knowledge in AWS (IAM, KMS, EKS) and CSPM tooling.
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling to address threats and shadow AI risks.
• Experience defending blockchain, custody, or DeFi infra is preferred.
• Programming experience in Python or Go, and Detections As Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead security projects and deliverables across Circle teams.
• Build detection coverage across cloud, blockchain, and AI surfaces.
• Develop post‑incident response capabilities and on‑call support.
• Collaborate to improve SIEM and Orchestration tooling.
• Provide security guidance to various organizations within Circle.
