Job summary

Circle is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead detection, response, and security engineering across blockchain, cloud (AWS), and AI-powered threat surfaces. You will build detection coverage, drive incident response, and partner with engineering to harden Circle’s platforms, including USDC issuance, Arc, and custody environments.

The role requires deep cloud security knowledge, experience with SIEM/SOAR tools, and hands-on programming skills in Python or Golang.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in detection, response, or security engineering.
3+ years of experience commanding security incidents, especially involving engineering.
Deep cloud security knowledge in AWS environments: IAM, KMS, EKS, runtime exploitation, CSPM tooling.
Working knowledge of blockchain and crypto-native threats: on-chain monitoring, custody attack patterns, smart contract abuse.

Responsibilities

Lead security projects and key deliverables across Circle teams.
Build detection coverage for cloud, blockchain, and AI surfaces.
Develop and extend SIEM and SOAR capabilities.
Lead incident response and collaborate to investigate and resolve security events.
Provide security guidance across the organization and participate in threat modeling, audits, and tooling.
