Job summary

CircleCI is seeking an intermediate Security Operations Engineer to protect its cloud, CI/CD environments, and customer data. You will work with Engineering as a security partner, using AI-driven tooling to enhance detection, response, and automation across CircleCI.

The role emphasizes hands-on security engineering, incident response, and developing scalable security automation. You will contribute to security architecture and roadmap while staying current with AI-focused security threats.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of security engineering or security operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with cloud, application, and CI/CD security, in AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Experience with security incident response and common tooling (EDR, CNAPP, SASE).
• Ability to build and maintain security automation and tooling (Go/Python/Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security threats across CircleCI’s cloud and application environments using AI-assisted tooling.
• Participate in security risk assessments, incident response, and post-incident reviews; drive stronger controls.
• Build and maintain security tooling and automation across cloud, application, and CI/CD environments.
• Identify vulnerabilities and configuration risks; contribute to runbooks and compliance requirements.
• Incorporate AI-powered security tools into day-to-day workflows and evaluate new technologies.
• Partner with Engineering to translate risks into actionable recommendations and roadmaps.
