Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Principal Scientist to join the neutralizing antibody group in DMPK at our Ridgefield, CT headquarters. The role focuses on developing cell-based and ligand-binding assays to evaluate neutralization activity of anti-drug antibodies in clinical samples for immunogenicity assessments.

You will lead experimental design, collaborate with CROs and cross-functional teams, and contribute to regulatory-compliant assay development for late-stage clinical studies.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree with 5+ years in a related field.
• 3+ years direct hands-on experience developing and validating nAb assays for clinical samples.
• Experience overseeing CROs for immunoassay development/validation.
• Expertise in cell-based and ligand-binding immunoassays for regulated bioanalytical testing.
• Familiarity with GLP/GCP and global regulatory guidance.
• Proficiency with EnVision, SpectraMax, MSD, and flow cytometry.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently designs and performs scientific experiments with predefined goals, including developing new methodologies.
• Serve as scientific monitor for assay performance and project management at external CROs.
• Contributes to defining R&D goals and collaborates with scientists across functions.
• Prepares clear technical reports, publications, and presentations; reports updates to senior management.
• Demonstrates expertise in project-relevant areas and guides other staff.
• Develops broad knowledge by interpreting current literature and scientific trends.
