Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Principal Scientist to join the neutralizing antibody (nAb) group in DMPK at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT. You will develop cell-based and competitive ligand-binding assays to evaluate neutralization activity of anti-drug antibodies in clinical samples, in support of clinical immunogenicity.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience in a related field.
• At least 3+ years direct hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and validating nAb assays for clinical sample analysis in a regulated bioanalytical environment.
• Demonstrated experience conducting clinical nAb assay development, validation and sample analysis at a CRO or overseeing these activities.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing in vitro cell-based and ligand-binding immunoassays for regulated bioanalytical testing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of global regulatory guidance and industry best practices for bioanalytical immunoassays in clinical programs.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and perform experiments to develop new methodologies and test procedures.
• Serve as scientific monitor for assay performance and project management at external CROs.
• Define R&D goals and collaborate across teams to achieve program objectives.
• Prepare technical reports, publications and presentations for senior management.
• Provide guidance to advance projects and evaluate new technologies and concepts.
• Develop broad knowledge and interpret current literature relevant to R&D projects.
