Job summary

Genentech, Inc. is seeking a Technical Development Principal Scientist, Mass Spectrometry Characterization Lead, to drive analytical strategies from early development to commercialization. You will bridge leadership with hands-on MS expertise and guide cross-functional teams.

You will mentor team members, develop advanced MS methods, and contribute to regulatory filing readiness while collaborating with partners to deliver impactful biologic therapies.

Qualifications

Ph.D. (or MS/BS with extensive experience) in a chemical/biological science.
Deep expertise in LC-MS for protein/biologic characterization.
Experience with CMC/regulatory filings (IND/BLA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead MS characterization strategy across development to launch.
Design, execute, and interpret LC-MS analyses for protein modalities.
Develop phase-appropriate MS methods and MAM strategies.
Identify CQAs and PTMs to ensure analytical control.
Support process development milestones and regulatory submissions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentors in MS data interpretation.
