Tr1X, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead LNP platform and process development for in vivo CAR-Treg programs. You will design, optimize, and scale LNP formulations, develop analytical methods, and enable IND-enabling manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related field.
• 6+ years of industry experience or equivalent.
• Experience with LNP formulation and process development.
• Hands-on with microfluidic or scalable mixing tech and downstream purification such as TFF.
• Experience with mRNA therapeutics or nucleic acid delivery systems.
• Exposure to immunotherapy or in‑vivo cell therapy platforms is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, development, and optimization of LNP formulations for mRNA delivery.
• Evaluate lipid composition, formulation parameters, and mixing to optimize particle characteristics and performance.
• Develop research-scale, compatible production processes for high-quality tLNPs.
• Develop analytical methods (DLS, Ribogreen, HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, endotoxin testing).
• Interpret data to correlate physicochemical properties with biological function.
• Collaborate with platform biology teams for in vitro/in vivo studies and tech transfer with CDMOs.
• Spearhead IND-enabling documentation and long-term scalable LNP platform strategy.
• Participate in cross-functional development and manufacturing projects.
