Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, CA seeks a Principal Scientist in Inflammation to advance human-data–driven insights across wet-lab biology and AI/ML approaches. You will accelerate discovery, integrate diverse data sources, and guide experimental design to translate targets into therapies.

We expect PhD or MD/PhD or PharmD with 7+ years in inflammation/immunology research, strong collaboration in matrixed teams, and a record of influence on science strategy.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
• MD, PharmD or MD with post-doc and industry experience in inflammation/immunology research.
• Bachelor's or Master's with years of industry experience in Inflammation/Immunology.

Responsibilities

• Continuously apply AI-driven approaches to generate mechanistic insights and guide experimental design.
• Design, execute, analyze and interpret studies on disease mechanisms and therapeutic hypotheses.
• Generate high-quality experimental data to support target identification and validation in Inflammation research.
• Integrate experimental findings with literature, human genetics, and clinical observations to inform scientific decisions.
• Present findings to project teams and governance forums.
