Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in immunology, pulmonary biology, cell biology, molecular biology, pharmacology, translational medicine, or related discipline.
  • Five or more years of relevant pharmaceutical, biotech, postdoctoral, or translational research experience.
  • Strong expertise in immunology, immune-cell biology, and tissue inflammation.
  • Practical knowledge of lung biology and rheumatology-associated pulmonary disease (ILD).
  • Understanding of immune-cell interactions in inflammation and fibrosis.
  • Experience developing or applying in vitro or ex vivo translational models.
  • Ability to translate data into mechanistic hypotheses and actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication in cross-functional settings; matrixed collaboration experience.
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead scientists in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute immunology-focused leadership for autoimmune disease biology and ILD-related research.
  • Design and apply translational assays and complex in vitro/ex vivo models using human cells.
  • Translate mechanistic immunology insights into project strategies and decisions.
  • Serve as translational biology representative on discovery and development teams.
  • Lead experimental design, execution, analysis, and communication of results.
  • Mentor scientists, contractors, and matrixed contributors; build team capability.
  • Manage direct reports, set goals, provide feedback, and drive development.
  • Prepare translational summaries, reports, and presentations for leadership and partners.
  • Collaborate across Translational Biology, Discovery Sciences, and Medicine/Clinical teams.
