Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ seeks a Director (Principal Scientist) to lead and direct clinical research activities in the Atherosclerosis & Metabolism area, spanning from preclinical to post-licensure, and to manage late-stage development across study design, execution, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publication.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor investigators, and drive external partnerships, with travel up to 20% and a commitment to scientific excellence.

Formación

• Must have experience in industry or senior faculty in academia
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical medicine experience
• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience in drug development or biomedical research experience in academia
• Demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and achievement
• Proven track record in clinical medicine and background in biomedical research
• Strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to function in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Board Certified or Eligible in Cardiology (adult or pediatric), Endocrinology, or Nephrology or related discipline
• Prior specific experience in clinical research and prior publication

Responsabilidades

• Plan clinical trials (design, operational plans, settings) based on development strategies
• Monitor and manage ongoing or new clinical trials for investigational or marketed drugs
• Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support decisions and regulatory submissions
• Participate in internal and external research project teams for new compounds or marketed drugs
• Support business development assessments of external opportunities
• Collaborate with Clinical Scientists to execute studies and manage cross-functional teams
• Travel about twenty percent of the time to manage clinical research projects
