Legion is building secure, reliable AI infrastructure in the United States. As Principal Rust Engineer - Platform, you will develop core infrastructure, drive platform features, and optimize Rust performance within a Kubernetes/Docker stack.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across government and enterprise partners to design scalable backend systems, while ensuring production readiness for ML workflows and platform reliability.

Qualifikationen

• U.S. Citizenship or Greencard required due to government contracts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of software and platform engineering experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience building platform infrastructure and backend systems serving multiple products.
• Expertise in Rust and high-performance systems design.
• Deep knowledge of distributed databases, storage, indexing, data modeling, and low-latency access.
• Experience designing systems to support AI/ML workloads.
• Familiarity with workflow engines, execution runtimes, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• Growth mindset, collaborative culture, and inclusive technical leadership.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop foundational components and frameworks that serve as building blocks for our Agentic AI platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and create platform solutions for developers.
• Cultivate a growth mindset, study design patterns, and stay current with technologies that attract developers to platforms and frameworks.
• Work with ML engineers to build infrastructure supporting ML workflows for enterprise-grade reliability.
• Provide production support and troubleshooting to ensure platform stability and scalability.
