Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a Principal RTDS Engineer to lead hardware-in-the-loop validation for their storage and power conversion products in Houston, TX. The role drives lab architecture, test strategy, and model development across controls and firmware teams.

The candidate will mentor engineers, oversee CI automation, and collaborate with labs, universities, and utilities. Remote options with travel are available as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in HIL testing or real-time simulation for grid-connected power electronics.
• Strong lab leadership and test-program ownership.
• Hands-on RTDS/RSCAD hardware and software experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and own HIL/RTDS strategy, lab architecture and platform roadmap.
• Lead design, procurement, commissioning and expansion of HIL lab.
• Develop real-time models for plant, grid and equipment behavior.
