Company

At Prime Robotics, we’re building the future of warehouse automation — smart, integrated systems that combine robotics, software, and scalable infrastructure. Our robots don’t just move stuff — they optimize how warehouses work.

Position

Join our innovative team as a Principal Robotics Engineer and lead the technical development of cutting-edge robotic systems that are revolutionizing warehouse automation. This hands-on individual contributor role offers the unique opportunity to shape the next of autonomous mobile robots while working with a world-class engineering team spanning the US and China. You'll drive technical excellence through direct engineering work rather than people management.

What You'll Do

Robotics Innovation & Development

  • Design breakthrough robotic systems for warehouse automation, from concept through production
  • Pioneer next- autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) with advanced navigation and manipulation capabilities
  • Architect robotic solutions integrating computer vision, SLAM, motion control, and sensor fusion
  • Prototype innovative robots and scale them from proof-of-concept to mass manufacturing
  • Drive technical excellence in robotics software platforms, ROS implementations, and autonomous navigation systems

Manufacturing Excellence & Quality Leadership

  • Collaborate with our China hardware engineering team to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing at scale
  • Lead quality control and quality assurance initiatives across the entire product lifecycle
  • Partner with manufacturing contractors and distributors to establish world-class production capabilities
  • Develop comprehensive testing protocols and validation methodologies for robotic systems
  • Optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness

Technical Problem Solving & Support

  • Troubleshoot complex robotic systems alongside our robotics technicians in the field
  • Provide expert technical guidance for deployment challenges and system optimization
  • Lead root cause analysis for hardware and software integration issues
  • Establish best practices for robotic system maintenance and lifecycle management

Customer Experience & Demo Center Leadership

  • Design and operate our state-of-the-art robotics demonstration center in Denver, CO
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations to prospective customers and industry partners
  • Showcase the revolutionary capabilities of our robotic automation solutions
  • Gather valuable customer insights to drive future product development
  • Represent our technology at industry conferences and technical forums

Requirements

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of robotics engineering experience with proven track record of shipping robotic products
  • Deep expertise in autonomous robotics, including SLAM, path planning, and navigation systems
  • Mastery of ROS (Robot Operating System) and modern robotics software frameworks
  • Strong background in sensor integration, computer vision, and multi-robot coordination
  • Experience with motion control systems, embedded electronics, and real-time systems
  • Knowledge of warehouse automation, material handling, or industrial robotics

Manufacturing & Quality Focus

  • Proven experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
  • Hands-on experience with quality control methodologies and statistical process control
  • Success in scaling prototypes to high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience working with onshore, near shore, and or overseas manufacturing partners
  • Understanding of supply chain optimization and component sourcing strategies

Leadership & Collaboration Skills

  • Exceptional ability to influence technical decisions across international teams as an individual contributor
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills, with experience working with Chinese engineering teams
  • Proven track record of building consensus and driving results through technical expertise rather than management authority
  • Outstanding presentation abilities for technical demonstrations and customer engagement
  • Experience mentoring technical talent and developing educational programs

Benefits

We value our team members and offer meaningful benefits:

  • Employer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance plans to support your health and wellbeing
  • Dedicated vacation and sick leave that allows you to recharge and take care of yourself when needed
  • Invaluable hands-on experience with cutting-edge robotics technology that keeps your skills at the industry forefront
  • A collaborative culture where innovation thrives and your work has a real impact
  • The excitement of contributing to transformative technology in a fast-growing industry
