Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking a Principal Research Scientist to lead the next-generation architecture for budget control, pacing, and bidding in our DSP optimization stack. You will guide the evolution of high-scale systems and coordinate with engineering teams to drive production readiness.

You will mentor senior researchers, shape long-term technical strategy, and push for AI-assisted, automated development loops across the organization.

Qualifications

• PhD in quantitative field (CS/EE/OR/Stats/Math) preferred.
• 8+ years designing and deploying large-scale optimization or ML in production.
• Strong foundation in probability, convex/stochastic optimization, and control theory.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, design, and deployment of large-scale algorithms for budget pacing and bid optimization.
• Architect AI workflows and automated experiment orchestration to accelerate research-to-production.
• Mentor scientists and engineers, set technical excellence standards, and align with leadership.
