Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. seeks a Principal Research Scientist to lead the DSP Optimization architecture for budget control, pacing, and bidding at scale. You will guide AI-augmented development loops and apply advanced optimization and control theory in production environments.

Qualifications

PhD in a quantitative field required.
8+ years designing and deploying large-scale optimization or ML in production.
Strong foundation in probability and convex optimization.
Experience with low-latency or distributed architectures.
Ability to translate math into executable systems.

Responsibilities

Lead research, architecture, and deployment of large-scale optimization for budget pacing and bidding.
Design agentic AI workflows, automated experiment orchestration, and AI-driven validation.
Set technical strategy and long-term vision for DSP optimization with leadership.
Apply control theory and ML to real-time marketplace dynamics under uncertainty.
Direct AI-assisted code refactoring and AI-driven research synthesis.
Mentor senior scientists and engineers; communicate results to executives.
