Job summary

Kairos Power seeks a Distinguished Engineer to provide senior technical leadership for fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor technology. You will shape long-term vision, architecture, and engineering standards for Reactor Systems to meet safety, performance, and deployment goals.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, resolve complex technical challenges, and mentor engineers across multiple teams to advance Kairos Power’s advanced reactor program toward

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
• 20+ years of progressively increasing technical leadership experience in nuclear reactor design or related fields is required.
• Experience leading major technical scope across complex engineering programs is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical authority to shape long-term technical vision, system architecture, and engineering strategy for Reactor Systems.
• Serve as the highest-level technical authority for reactor systems design philosophy and decision-making.
• Lead enterprise-wide technical consistency across reactor systems design, integration, analysis, testing, qualification, and deployment.
• Mentor engineers across Reactor Systems and adjacent teams to strengthen capabilities.
• Represent Reactor Systems in technical discussions, design reviews, and executive briefings.
