Job summary

RTX in Woburn, MA is hiring a Principal Systems Engineer for the Radar Performance and Analysis team to support the AN/TPY-2 missile defense radar program. This onsite role focuses on data evaluation, performance assessment, and TPM/KPM reporting to leadership and military stakeholders.

You will develop automated workflows in MATLAB and Python, manage system requirements, and ensure V&V compliance. A DoD security clearance and STEM degree are required, with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in test methodology, data analysis, scripting, and/or software development.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, Perl, C/C++, Unix, and/or Linux.

Responsibilities

• Parse, process, and analyze raw sensor data, tracks, and detections to evaluate algorithm performance, target discrimination, and tracking accuracy.
• Conduct scenario-based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
• Perform system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
• Lead system-level requirements analysis, decomposition, and traceability, managing the full verification and validation (V&V) lifecycle.
• Establish, monitor, and report on KPMs and TPMs, proactively identifying performance trends, variances, and system risks.
• Develop and maintain robust MATLAB and Python scripts to automate large-scale data ingestion, statistical modeling, and performance report generation.
• Translate complex data findings into clear technical presentations, dashboards, and documentation for program leadership and military stakeholders.
