About the job:

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal QA Engineer/Manager to help establish a world-class QA function across our enterprise systems. You will build and lead a QA team, define QA strategy, select test automation frameworks, and ensure comprehensive test coverage for applications like Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, and other platforms.

This role involves designing and implementing test processes, creating test scripts, and guiding quality engineering efforts company-wide. You will also manage and develop a team of QA professionals, requiring at least 3 years of people management experience.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to embed quality practices throughout the development lifecycle, emphasizing scalability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

1. Build and lead a high-performing QA team, including hiring, mentoring, and setting best practices.
2. Provide career development and performance management support to QA team members.
3. Design and implement scalable, reusable test automation frameworks for enterprise applications.
4. Develop and execute manual and automated test scripts for platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, and internal systems.
5. Select suitable testing tools and frameworks for automation, performance, and integration testing.
6. Work with engineering and product teams to develop effective test strategies based on business requirements.
7. Manage the QA roadmap, including sprint testing, regression planning, and release readiness.
8. Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid feedback and confident releases.
9. Monitor test metrics, analyze defects, and promote continuous process improvement.
10. Establish QA best practices, coding standards, and documentation protocols.
11. Coordinate with DevOps to maintain stable test environments and data sets.
12. Advise leadership on quality risks and mitigation strategies throughout the SDLC.
13. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging testing technologies, recommending adoption as appropriate.

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in QA, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams and strategy.
• Minimum 3 years of direct people management experience.
• Deep expertise with automated testing tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestCafe, and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Proven success in implementing large-scale test automation frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and version control systems (Git).
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum, SDLC, QA methodologies, and shift-left testing practices.
• Proficiency with tools like JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, and test documentation management.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with developers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on testing activities.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with QA for ERP or cloud systems like Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday.
• Knowledge of performance/load testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
• Certifications like ISTQB, Certified Selenium Tester, or similar.
• Experience in startup or greenfield QA environments, building teams or processes from scratch.
