Job summary

LawnStarter is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to own the quality strategy, standards, and tooling across the engineering org. You will work closely with the QA squad to raise quality, scale AI-native testing, and influence tooling decisions as the company grows.

This role focuses on hands-on leadership rather than people management day one, with potential path to direct QA reports as the squad expands. You will collaborate with Head of Engineering to push the state of quality forward.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and guiding QA strategy.
• Ability to mentor QA engineers across squads.
• Hands-on experience with test automation across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Own the company-wide QA strategy and standards.
• Lead AI-native quality tooling initiatives and integrations.
• Mentor QA engineers across multiple squads and PMs/EMs.
• Define CI/CD quality gates and test infrastructure improvements.
• Drive production quality signals and dashboards for visibility.
