Job summary

Bayer seeks a Principal Project Engineer to lead the engineering and technical delivery of defined buildings or multidisciplinary work packages at the Columbus, OH campus. The role requires coordination of design interfaces, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover, with significant travel to design firms and initial onsite presence in New Albany, OH.

Relocation is available and candidates should be located in or willing to relocate to the Eastern/Midwestern US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Typically seven+ years of relevant engineering or capital-project experience.
• Independent delivery of multidisciplinary facility or infrastructure packages.
• Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, CSA interfaces, commissioning and construction interfaces.
• Experience coordinating suppliers, engineering contractors and stakeholders.
• Strong planning, technical documentation, problem-solving, and cost/schedule management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage building areas, infrastructure packages, or groups of related facility systems.
• Coordinate engineering partners and specialists to produce complete designs.
• Review layouts, equipment interfaces, access requirements and interdisciplinary connections.
• Coordinate testing prerequisites, commissioning plans, and qualification activities.
• Manage budgets, schedules, risks, and changes for assigned packages.
• Maintain requirements traceability and implement approved changes.
