Job summary

Blue Shield of California’s R&D team seeks a Principal Product Strategist to define how we measure and learn from technology-enabled care models. You will set data strategy, connect clinical, technology, and analytics teams, and translate results into strategic recommendations to scale programs.

This short-term role emphasizes leadership across care models, AI-enabled evaluation, and value-based payment insights, with hybrid virtual work and periodic office collaboration in Oakland, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or GED with 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Master's degree in public health, health services research, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years in healthcare or life sciences with payer/provider/digital health exposure.
• Experience designing outcomes measurement with defined KPIs and financial impact.
• Lead cross-functional work across clinical, technology, and analytics teams without direct authority.
• Experience building dashboards or analytics products in HIPAA environments.
• Strong executive communication; translate complex findings into clear recommendations.
• Experience evaluating digital or device-enabled care models; AI experience preferred.
• Familiarity with value-based or outcomes-based payment models; CMS Innovation Center exposure a plus.
• Peer-reviewed outcomes research or real-world evidence publications preferred.
