Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Principal Product Strategist in Research and Development to define outcomes and data strategy for ACCESS-aligned pathways. You will connect clinical, technology, and analytics teams to translate results into actionable strategic recommendations.

This short-term engagement requires extensive healthcare analytics experience, KPI design, and executive communication to influence decisions and scale successful care models.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HS with 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Master's degree in public health, health services research, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of healthcare or life sciences experience at a payer, provider, or digital health company.
• Experience designing outcomes measurement, defining outcomes and KPIs, and translating results into financial impact.
• Track record leading cross-functional work across clinical, technology, and analytics teams without direct authority.
• Experience building reporting, dashboards, or analytics products in HIPAA-governed environments.
• Strong executive communication skills, including turning complex findings into clear recommendations.
• Experience evaluating digital or device-enabled care models, including AI-enabled products preferred.
• Familiarity with value-based or outcomes-based payment models; CMS Innovation Center exposure is a plus.
• Peer-reviewed outcomes research or real-world evidence publications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own how we measure and learn from technology-enabled care models, starting with ACCESS-aligned pathways.
• Set the measurement and data strategy for each pathway and connect clinical, technology, and analytics teams.
• Turn results into recommendations that shape strategy, partner choices and scale decisions.
• Lead cross-functional work across clinical, technology, and analytics teams without direct authority.
• Contribute to live demonstrations and outcomes testing across cardio-kidney-metabolic and behavioral health tracks.
