Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a Principal Product Security Researcher to lead our product security research function end-to-end. You will map emerging threats, translate insights into strategy, and help Chainguard stay ahead of attackers across our product portfolio.

You’ll own the security research agenda, shape direction across products, and collaborate with leadership to embed findings into roadmaps and architecture decisions. This role requires independent ownership and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Deep experience in product or application security with a track record of leading research or threat-focused work.
• Expert knowledge across secure architecture, application security, software supply chain, and risk management.
• Ability to own ambiguous cross-functional problems and translate into prioritized initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Research emerging threats & trends in software supply chain and product security and analyze impact on Chainguard products.
• Design mitigations across people, process, and technology to create pragmatic defenses.
• Partner with executive and senior engineering leadership to drive security strategy and secure buy-in for changes.
• Identify systemic weaknesses and develop plans to fix root causes with lasting impact.
• Mentor teams across Product Security and Engineering to think strategically about threats and risk.
