Job description

Splunk, a Cisco company, is building a safer and more resilient digital world with an end-to-end full stack platform made for a hybrid, multi-cloud world. Leading enterprises use our unified security and observability platform to keep their digital systems secure and reliable. Our customers love our technology, but it's our caring employees that make Splunk stand out as an amazing career destination. No matter where in the world or what level of the organization, we approach our work with kindness. So bring your work experience, problem-solving skills and talent, of course, but also bring your joy, your passion and all the things that make you, you. Come help organizations be their best, while you reach new heights with a team that has your back.

**Role Summary**

At Splunk, we help the world’s largest and most complex organizations unlock the power of their data. From cybersecurity to observability, predictive analytics to IT operations, our platform fuels confident decisions at machine speed.

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead the next evolution of our Data Pipeline Building experience. This is a high-impact role at the heart of Splunk’s transformation, where you’ll define how our customers collect, transform, and route extensive streams of data—from edge to cloud, from raw to actionable.

If you love building for technical users, solving 0-to-1 and 1-to-n problems, and working across design, engineering, and GTM teams—this role is for you.

You’ll report to the Senior Manager of Product Management in the Data Management group. You’ll be part of a global, collaborative team that’s passionate about building great products—and having fun doing it. You’ll work with peers across engineering, design, sales, and customer success teams based in the US, Canada, and Poland

**What you'll get to do**

+ Lead the vision and strategy for stream-time capabilities and intelligent recommendations that help customers build and iterate easily, and accelerate value realization.

+ Craft the building experience for ease of use to empower admins and engineers—think intuitive guides, reusable templates, stateful/stateless transformations, config-as-code, and visual data flows.

+ Bring voice of the customer into every decision, balancing technical nuance with clarity and usability.

+ Drive market differentiation, by keeping ahead of trends in edge compute, data federation, and stream processing.

+ Collaborate across Splunk, aligning engineering, design, customer success, and field teams on your roadmap and strategy.

+ Help craft Splunk’s long-term data federation strategy, influencing how enterprise data is led across clouds, regions, and environments.

**Must-have Qualifications**

+ 6+ years of product management experience, preferably in data platforms, infrastructure, observability, or stream processing.

+ A customer-first attitude with a curiosity about understanding what technical users need—even if they don’t say it out loud.

+ A track record of shipping products that are scalable, secure, and user-friendly.

+ Strong instincts for market positioning, customer needs, and go-to-market strategy.

+ Excellent communication skills—you can align execs, energize teams, and simplify the sophisticated.

**Nice-to-have Qualifications**

We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.

+ Worked on edge computing, or processing tools

+ Enterprise-grade admin consoles or deployment tooling

+ An MBA or equivalent experience

**Splunk is an Equal Opportunity Employer**

Splunk, a Cisco company, is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, genetic information, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected basis.
