Job summary

Upstart is seeking a Principal Product Manager, Experimentation Platform, to co-lead the platform with cross-functional partners. You will shape long-term strategy, expand model deployment and experimentation capabilities, and enable teams to test and learn at scale.

The role collaborates with ML, Analytics, and Engineering to implement randomized experiments, feature flags, and platform abstractions. This remote-facing role operates across U.S. time zones with a digital-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) and 7+ years of product management experience.
• Experience owning strategy and roadmaps for technically complex software, platform, infrastructure, data, or developer-facing products.
• Experience partnering with engineering, data science, Machine Learning, or Analytics teams on technical product architecture, tradeoffs, and delivery.
• Experience applying quantitative methods, including statistics, experimentation, analytics, or data science, to product development and decision-making.
• Experience developing platforms that support Machine Learning or AI workflows, including deployment, measurement, or experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategy and roadmap for Upstart’s experimentation platform while balancing immediate needs with long-term vision.
• Collaborate with ML, Analytics, and Engineering to build shared experimentation capabilities (randomized experiments, model deployments, feature flags).
• Create abstractions and guardrails to reduce fragmentation and improve testing and learning across teams.
• Establish a center of excellence for experimentation, standards, and functional rigor across Upstart.
• Partner with Growth, Servicing, Capital, and other teams to understand needs and drive adoption of shared capabilities.
• Guide the experimentation technology approach and vendor partnerships to support the platform strategy.
