Job description

We’re partnering with a growth-stage Series C technology company to hire a Principal Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution for a portfolio of technically complex infrastructure products spanning software, firmware and hardware.

This person will work closely with engineering, customers and company leadership to define product requirements, establish priorities and guide products from early planning through commercial release. The role begins as a senior individual contributor position but offers the opportunity to take on broader product leadership responsibilities as the company and product organization grow.

The ideal candidate will bring direct product experience in at least one of three areas: data-center infrastructure, platform-management firmware or semiconductor products, with experience spanning a second area considered a strong advantage.

This is a full-time, permanent position onsite in San Jose, CA.

What You'll Do:
  • Own the strategy and roadmap for platform software, embedded software and firmware products.
  • Translate customer needs, technical concepts and business objectives into clear product requirements and development priorities.
  • Develop product requirements, acceptance criteria, release plans and supporting documentation.
  • Partner closely with firmware, embedded software, hardware, systems, quality and commercial teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead technical product discussions with customers and partners to understand integration requirements, use cases and future needs.
  • Prioritize features across multiple development programs and make informed decisions around scope, timing and resources.
  • Coordinate software and firmware plans with related hardware, infrastructure and silicon dependencies.
  • Support product launches, positioning, customer presentations and partner enablement.
  • Help establish product management processes and contribute to the continued growth of the product organization.
Must-Have Skills
  • At least 8 years of product management experience, including ownership of a technically complex product, platform or product line from definition through release.
  • Direct product experience in at least one of the following areas: 1. Data-center infrastructure or large-scale computing systems; 2. Platform-management or server-management firmware; 3. Semiconductor or silicon-based products, including hardware security or embedded machine learning
  • Strong experience translating customer and market feedback into detailed product requirements, acceptance criteria, and actionable engineering priorities.
  • The technical depth to work effectively with firmware, software, systems and hardware engineering teams and participate credibly in architecture and product-design discussions.
  • Experience working directly with technical customers, partners, OEMs, cloud providers or enterprise stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing product documentation and presenting to technical and executive audiences.
  • The ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment where priorities, products and markets are still being defined.
Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience spanning two or more of the following areas: data-center infrastructure, platform-management firmware and semiconductor products.
  • A prior background in engineering, systems architecture, field applications or another deeply technical function.
  • Experience with hardware security, root of trust, secure boot, system telemetry, infrastructure management or embedded AI/ML.
  • Experience working in a company where hardware, silicon, software and firmware are developed as an integrated product.
  • Experience working with hyperscalers, OEMs, ODMs, cloud providers or other large infrastructure customers.
  • Experience helping build or scale a product management function.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Base salary between $220,000-$250,000 plus meaningful equity
  • Fully paid medical, dental and vision coverage for employee and family
  • Life insurance and long-term disability coverage
