Job summary

Jabil seeks a Principal Product Engineer to drive the technical direction of Advanced Compute Platform NPI and manufacturing programs from Austin, TX or USA-based remote locations. You will partner with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure world-class performance of server/storage platforms.

The role requires deep hardware product experience, Linux and scripting skills, and travel up to 40%. Leadership and analytical abilities are essential to deliver robust, scalable solutions

Qualifications

• Experience with server, storage or networking product development.
• Experience in multi-site, multi-cultural environments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Deep understanding of server, storage, networking and GPGPU architectures.
• Knowledge of OS, driver, firmware and hardware interactions.
• Strong Linux expertise and scripting ability.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for product introductions and manufacturing performance for new and sustaining server and storage-based platforms.
• Organize teams and drive solutions for multiple complex problems cross-functionally.
• Communicate complex issues in simple, actionable terms at all levels.
• Balance technical skills, judgment and business acumen in execution.
• Develop and maintain relationships with peers, leadership, customers and partners.
• Provide thought leadership and engineering support to multiple manufacturing sites.
• Share best practices across Jabil facilities.
• Guide teams toward resolving complex product, process and material issues via analytics.
• Lead root cause investigations with operations and test leadership to improve FPY and throughput.
• Interface with customers for product introductions and manufacturing performance.
• Contribute to knowledge base and train test/debug leads; respond to feedback promptly.
