Chime is seeking a Principal Product Designer, Spending, to lead design across spending, savings, and investing experiences in its mobile app. You will shape the visual and interaction language, directing how users interact with money in daily life.

The role requires deep mobile design expertise, senior IC experience, and the ability to translate research into compelling, intuitive experiences. Onsite in New York, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and design excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead design across spending, savings, and investing experiences, from early concepts through launch and iteration
• Create polished mobile experiences with strong attention to typography, layout, interaction, motion, and product details that support intuitive use
• Translate complex financial concepts into clear, member-friendly experiences that help people make informed decisions
• Explore ambitious ideas, build compelling prototypes, and use feedback to refine the strongest direction
• Partner closely with product, engineering, research, and content design to understand member needs and deliver thoughtful solutions
• Maintain a cohesive point of view across app experiences while identifying opportunities to raise overall design quality
• Provide constructive critique, mentor other designers, and help teams make strong design decisions

Requirements

• Deep experience designing consumer mobile products, with a portfolio showing outstanding visual craft and shipped work
• Track record leading complex product design projects as a senior individual contributor
• Strong interaction design skills, with an ability to make sophisticated experiences feel simple and approachable
• Range to define a vision, communicate it clearly, and work through the details needed to bring it to life
• Experience using research, customer feedback, and product data to inform and improve designs
• Ability to build trust across disciplines, navigate competing priorities, and move teams toward shared direction
• Fintech or financial services experience is a plus (not required)

Salary: USD 222,000 - 290,000 per yearly
