PermitFlow, an applied AI company redefining permitting workflows, seeks a Principal Product Designer in New York. You will own the vision for our most strategic product surfaces and drive AI‑assisted experiences that users trust and control.

You will shape roadmaps with design and engineering leadership, raise the craft bar across the team, and mentor peers while delivering cohesive, scalable interfaces for complex regulatory workflows.

Qualifications

• Portfolio showing leading high‑craft, complex B2B products from concept to launch.
• 10+ years designing dense B2B software with workflow‑heavy complexity.
• Ability to elevate work of other designers and bring structure to ambiguous problem spaces.
• Experience designing AI-powered or technically advanced products and making AI legible and controllable.

Responsibilities

• Own the design vision for high‑impact product areas and deliver pixel‑perfect execution.
• Set strategic direction for permitting workflows, automation, and AI‑assisted decisions.
• Partner with Head of Design, product, and engineering to shape the roadmap and content.
• Raise craft bar, critique culture, and mentor designers without direct reports.
• Evolve design systems to scale as surface area grows.
• Balance deep detail with big‑picture direction at a fast pace.
• Develop domain expertise in construction permitting, licensing, and inspections.
• Collaborate with Sales/Marketing on collateral while ensuring scalable, beautiful product.
