Job summary

Ares Management is seeking an experienced Principal to join its Alternative Credit team in New York. You will focus on sourcing, origination, and brand development within private markets, leveraging deep banking relationships and market intelligence to generate new deal flow.

The role emphasizes developing partnerships, coordinating complex investment processes, and expanding the group’s origination engine to drive growth across all pockets of capital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent required.
• 10–15+ years’ experience at a top investment firm, investment bank or similar organization.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.
• Understanding of loan/transaction documentation.
• Superior networking skills to source deal flow.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain banking, advisory and lending platform relationships to increase deal flow.
• Source opportunities across private credit markets via deep relationships and regular contact.
• Create strategic partnerships/JVs to scale origination and branding.
• Drive brand development through conferences, panels and industry events.
• Coordinate and quarterback investment processes from origination to execution.
