Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join its Autonomous Vehicle team. In this role, you will develop key features for our autonomous driving platform by applying machine learning to prediction, planning, and control problems. You will create innovative ML solutions for NVIDIA’s next-generation automotive products, requiring hands-on experience and deep knowledge in machine learning. Understanding of deep neural networks, autonomous vehicles, and domain adaptation is highly desirable. Collaboration across teams and disciplines such as computer vision, computer graphics, and machine learning is encouraged. Strong research, software development, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential. Join us to help shape the future of AI automation.

What you’ll be doing:

  1. Research, implement, and evaluate deep-learning-based methods for prediction and planning for NVIDIA's Autonomous Vehicle products.
  2. Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to evaluate the efficiency of our solutions on real-world data.
  3. Partner with system software engineering specialists to deploy industrial-strength ML models.
  4. Collaborate and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.

What we need to see:

  1. BS/MS/PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied math, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
  2. Proven experience of 15+ years building ML systems for autonomous vehicles or similar robotics applications.
  3. Deep understanding of large language models (LLMs) and transformers.
  4. Hands-on experience building and deploying large-scale production ML systems.
  5. Excellent leadership qualities and a track record of innovation in ML-based planning solutions.
  6. Experience with deep neural network training, inference, and optimization in frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, TensorRT, etc.
  7. Strong understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning and deep learning.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  1. Prior experience as an ML planning lead.
  2. Proven publication record in ML for planning, vision, or related fields.
  3. Experience building and deploying vision-language action or chain-of-thought models.

The base salary range is $272,000 - $425,500 USD, determined by location, experience, and internal pay scales. Benefits and equity are also provided. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
