Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join its Autonomous Vehicle team. In this role, you will develop key features for our autonomous driving platform by applying machine learning to prediction, planning, and control problems. You will create innovative ML solutions for NVIDIA's next-generation automotive products. The candidate should have hands-on experience and deep knowledge in machine learning, with a strong understanding of deep neural networks, autonomous vehicles, and domain adaptation being highly desirable. Collaboration across teams and disciplines such as computer vision, computer graphics, and machine learning is encouraged. Strong research, software development, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential. Join us and help shape the future of AI automation.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Research, implement, and evaluate deep-learning-based methods for prediction and planning in NVIDIA's Autonomous Vehicle products.
  2. Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to evaluate the efficiency of solutions on real-world data.
  3. Collaborate with system software engineering specialists to deploy industrial-strength ML models.
  4. Communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
What we need to see:
  • BS/MS/PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied math, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
  • 15+ years of proven experience building ML systems for autonomous vehicles or similar robotics applications.
  • Deep understanding of large language models (LLMs) and transformers.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying large-scale production ML systems.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a track record of innovation in ML-based planning solutions.
  • Experience with deep neural network training, inference, and optimization in frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, TensorRT, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the mathematical foundations of machine learning and deep learning.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Prior experience as an ML planning lead.
  • Proven publication record in ML for planning, vision, or related fields.
  • Experience building and deploying vision-language action or chain-of-thought models.

At NVIDIA, we are powering a revolution in AI with deep learning techniques on NVIDIA GPUs, enabling breakthroughs in image classification, speech recognition, NLP, and autonomous vehicles. AI systems that learn, reason, and interact are no longer science fiction. Today, AI-powered self-driving cars can navigate country roads at night, and robots can learn motor skills through trial and error. We are at an exciting time in AI development. NVIDIA is leading this revolution with innovative hardware and software. Join us and be part of the future!

The base salary range is $272,000 - $425,500, determined by location, experience, and market factors. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications continuously.
