Round-Peg Solutions (RPS) is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to design and own 50kV+ high-voltage power supplies from concept through prototype and production. You will work on power conversion, magnetics, high-voltage design, and testing in small, technically focused teams for aerospace and defense applications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing high-voltage power supplies operating at 50kV+ (or equivalent HV hardware).
• Strong fundamentals in power electronics, converter topologies and switching power supplies.
• Experience with HV transformers, magnetics and passive components.
• Knowledge of HV isolation, insulation and dielectric design.
• Experience taking hardware through design, prototype, bring-up and test.

Senior Power Electronics Engineer | High Voltage Power Supplies

This growing aerospace and defense organisation develops advanced electrical and power hardware for demanding applications where performance, reliability and SWaP are critical. Engineers work in small, highly technical teams with the freedom to solve difficult problems and see their designs progress rapidly from concept into physical hardware.

The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will play a key role in developing 50kV+ high-voltage power supplies, working across power conversion, magnetics, high-voltage design, prototype development and testing.

As the Senior Power Electronics Engineer your responsibilities will include

• Designing and developing high-voltage power supplies operating at 50kV+
• Developing power conversion architectures, converter topologies, switching and control approaches
• Designing and selecting transformers, magnetics, inductors and other high-voltage components
• Solving practical challenges involving isolation, insulation, creepage, clearance, corona and arcing
• Building, testing and troubleshooting prototypes before supporting qualification and production

As the Senior Power Electronics Engineer you will bring

• Hands‑on experience developing high-voltage power supplies or power conversion hardware at 50kV+
• Strong fundamentals in power electronics, converter topologies and switching power supplies
• Experience with high-voltage transformers, magnetics and passive components
• Knowledge of high-voltage isolation, insulation and dielectric design
• Experience taking real hardware through design, prototype, bring‑up and test

Your 50kV+ experience does not need to come directly from aerospace. Engineers from space, defense, radar, medical/X‑ray, semiconductor equipment, scientific instrumentation, lasers and other high‑voltage industries are encouraged to apply.

The Senior Power Electronics Engineer will have the opportunity to become a technical authority for high‑voltage power development while remaining deeply involved in the engineering. You will influence architecture, develop new hardware and work directly with the people building and testing your designs.
