Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Principal Program Manager, Clinical to lead strategic initiatives in behavioral health and addiction medicine. You will collaborate with internal partners to drive quality improvement and support NCQA and regulatory requirements across the portfolio.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, vendor and product development experience, and the need to influence change across multiple stakeholders. Hybrid work with in-office collaboration is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of additional relevant experience.
• Requires unrestricted CA license RN, PA, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or PsyD.
• Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience in service quality programs/health plan operations.
• Experience with behavioral healthcare across vendor, payer/plan, MBHO, clinical, or related perspectives.
• Experience driving sustainable change across multiple stakeholders for continuous quality improvement initiatives & strategies.
• Vendor/product development and management experience is preferred.
• Experience with integrated behavioral/medical health care models is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns a portfolio of work and leads projects with internal partners for continuous quality improvement across programs.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support behavioral health quality initiatives and regulatory/mandate programming.
• Contributes to development and evaluation of services and products in behavioral health and addiction medicine.
