Compunnel Inc. seeks a Principal Platform Engineer — Director to lead the architecture and engineering of an AI-native development platform, enabling secure, scalable software delivery across multiple products and client engagements.

This hands-on technical leadership role spans Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, Security, and AI-assisted Development, driving automation, security, reliability, and a superb developer experience at scale.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on expertise in Terraform/OpenTofu, Kubernetes, GitOps, multi-tenant platform architecture.
• Proven experience building shared CI/CD platforms using GitHub Actions or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of cloud security, identity management, networking, and workload identity federation.
• Experience with DevSecOps, policy-as-code, vulnerability scanning, software supply chain security, and SOC 2 / ISO 27001 compliance.
• Production observability experience with OpenTelemetry or equivalent technologies.
• Production software development experience in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Strong leadership, architecture documentation, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, and production Kubernetes environments, including multi-tenant isolation.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu, Terragrunt) and reusable infrastructure templates.
• Build and govern shared CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and automated quality and security gates.
• Implement security and compliance as code, including vulnerability scanning, policy enforcement, SBOM, and audit evidence.
• Architect cloud identity, workload federation, RBAC, private networking, and secure access controls across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Establish observability, SLOs, incident management, fault injection, and cloud cost attribution.
• Develop secure, sandboxed environments for AI coding assistants and AI-assisted software development.
• Drive technical architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to improve platform reliability and productivity.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role at the intersection of Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, Security, and AI-assisted Development. You will define the foundational platform capabilities, establish engineering standards, and drive automation, security, reliability, and developer experience at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, and production Kubernetes environments, including multi-tenant isolation.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu, Terragrunt) and reusable infrastructure templates.
• Build and govern shared CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and automated quality and security gates.

• Cloud architecture, Kubernetes, or security certifications.
• FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and developer experience initiatives.
