Job summary

Worldpay in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Principal PHP/Phalcon Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain our payment API and related services using the Phalcon framework.

You will collaborate with the engineering team to deliver scalable API solutions, ensure performance and security, and create technical documentation while following best practices. A minimum of 10 years in software engineering and strong PHP/Phalcon experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven experience as a Phalcon or PHP developer with willingness to learn Phalcon.
• Proficiency in PHP, PostgreSQL and basic web technologies (JS/Angular).
• Familiarity with MVC and Phalcon MVC framework.
• Familiarity with Microservices and RESTful API development.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and DevOps.
• CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop API applications using Phalcon PHP framework with focus on performance and security.
