Job summary

Everfox is seeking a Principal Oracle Database Administrator in Annapolis Junction, MD to lead Oracle 19c RAC installations, upgrades, and performance tuning. You will work with RHEL 8.x, RMAN backups, and STIG security controls, coordinating with government and contractor teams as needed.

The role requires TS/SCI with FS Poly, a DoD 8570 IAT II certification, and the ability to obtain US government work authorization.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with FS Polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, cyber security, or equivalent.
• At least one DoD 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT level II or higher.
• Ability to obtain work authorizations under ITAR/EAR.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Oracle DB on RHEL 8.x in physical/virtualized environments.
• Manage pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c databases and Oracle RAC 19c.
• Perform upgrades/patching and validate backup/recovery with RMAN.
• Monitor DB performance via AWR and database views; address issues with Oracle support as needed.
• Collaborate with government/contractor staff and ensure STIG compliance.
• Apply firmware updates to HPE servers and SANs; communicate progress daily.

Job Title: Principal Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

Position Summary: While you’ll have access to other DBA staff, you’ll be expected to be a self-starter and multitask while communicating effectively with the customer and Everfox management. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting medium-to-large-scale Oracle databases.

What You'll Be Doing

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL 8.x OS supporting Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments.
• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments.
• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle RAC 19c.
• Performing RHEL 8.x and Oracle 19c upgrades/patching.
• Periodically validating Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance (with AWR reports, database views, etc)
• Providing on-demand support for database-related issues and, if need be, working with Oracle support to address any unsolvable issues.
• Working with the product support and development teams to address issues or bugs discovered in products running at a customer location.
• Working with onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff to resolve issues with onsite products as a first line of support.
• Reviewing, applying, and remediating security vulnerabilities or security controls based on STIG guidance or scanning reports.
• Installing firmware updates on physical components such as HPE servers and HP SANs.
• Communicating daily with customers and Everfox management, providing detailed activity summaries and in-depth trip reports where applicable.
• Other duties as assigned

What Environment You’ll Be Supporting

• Database Configuration: Primary and Secondary Oracle 19c, 11g or 12c database RAC servers on physical hardware.
• Database Size: Will be up to 1.5 PB, with growth at a rate of 10TB per month.

Things You Must Have To Apply

• An active (currently in use) – TS/SCI with FS Polygraph
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent education and work experience.
• At least one DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT level II (2) or higher. (These are required only for DoD professional services roles.)
• The ability to obtain the appropriate work authorizations required under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations from the applicable U.S. government agency.

14+ years’ experience performing the following tasks:

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL 8.x OS supporting Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments.
• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle 19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments.
• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle RAC.
• Performing RHEL 8.x and Oracle 19c upgrades/patching.
• Periodically validating Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance.
• Providing on-demand support for database-related issues and, if need be, working with Oracle support to address any unsolvable issues.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:

$167,500.00-220,600.00 USD
