Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Operations Program Manager in Phoenix, AZ. The role leads operational program strategies, materials planning, and risk management across multiple sites in the U.S.

You will support proposals with BOM costing, hours/costing, tooling, and BOE generation, and influence cross‑functional teams to align on plans, policies, and procedures. A Secret clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and 6+ years in Supply Chain, Ops, PM, or technical PM.
  • Strong financial acumen with inputs into EACs and business case development.
  • Experience with SOWs and project requirements (technical and commercial).
  • Experience with MRP systems, especially Oracle, inventory and planning.
  • Experience leading teams with direct and indirect reports.
  • Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain government clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Operational focal for the Program IPT; accountable for operations, materials, issue resolution.
  • Capacity planning strategy and inputs to proposals (BOM costing, hours, tooling, BOE).
  • Support EACs and monthly Earned Value reporting; present metrics to leadership.
  • Communicate with Mercury and Customer leadership; manage supplier risk and obsolescence actions.
  • Maintain program schedule integrity and readiness for NPIs; drive ROI and business cases.

Job description

In this role, the Senior Principal Operations Program Manager (OPM) will have responsibility for multiple programs, some which may be executed in sites across the U.S. In this role, you will apply your existing knowledge of operations, material requirements planning, manufacturing and business acumen within a matrixed organization. You will be responsible for developing and executing operational program strategies/plans for a program, overall ownership program performance related to materials/operations, supply risk and opportunity management and communication of customer flow-through requirements such as FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset, public law, quality, warranty, etc. You will be the conduit for the Program regarding all Operations and Materials.
The OPM will support proposals by developing and leading material and operational proposal activities including task descriptions and basis of estimates. This work will be performed in conjunction with Factory Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement functions. Candidate must have excellent written and oral communications skills to influence and communicate effectively across multiple areas outside of one's own job function as well as with parties external to the organization. This job may have limited directreports, however it does require your ability to influenceothers outside of your immediate work area to explainandgain alignment on plans, policies, practices, and procedures.

This is an on-site position in Phoenix, AZ.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operations focal for the Program IPT; accountable for Operational aspects of the program (operations, materials, issue resolution)
  • Capacity Planning Strategy
  • Operations inputs to Customer proposals (BOM costing, Operations hours/costing, tooling/jigs, and full Operations BOE generation)
  • Support Estimates at Complete (EAC) and monthly Earned Value reporting
  • Support and present Operations metrics and data through Program Reviews (both internal and external) to Mercury and Customer leadership
  • Supplier risk and opportunity management to include obsolescence management, reporting, and improvement actions
  • Maintaining/Assessing the integrity of your programs' schedule
  • Champion efforts to meet readiness requirements throughout a NPI stage-gate process
  • Change leader, helping to drive Mercury’s strategy, structure, and values
  • This is a hand‑ons position, supporting a large and complex program coupled with long‑term improvements and initiatives
  • Strategic thinking coupled with ROI / business case development
Required Qualifications
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's and a minimum of 6+ years prior relevant experience in functional areas of Supply Chain, Operations (including Production Control), Program Management, or technical Project Management.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience providing inputs into and reviewing EACs, along with development of business cases.
  • Experience in review and understanding of statements of work (SOW) and project requirements (technical and commercial).
  • Experience with MRP systems- Ex. Oracle, especially with respect to inventory and planning functions.
  • Experience leading teams with direct and indirect reports.
  • Experience with Critical Thinking skills.

Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.”

  • Ability to succeed in the high stress, fast paced developmental environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to assign the appropriate priorities to the many tasksthat need to be performed.
  • Knowledge of US Government acquisition laws and regulations (FAR).
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), leadership abilities, and the ability to work in an IPT environment
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP business systems
  • Knowledge of MRCY-type products
  • Knowledge of EVMS

Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position
$87,100.00 - $182,900.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
$97,600.00 - $204,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
$102,800.00 - $215,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ
