Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated Operations Intern to support Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement and Data Analysis initiatives. You’ll gain hands-on experience, assist on daily tasks, and contribute to cross-functional projects that drive visibility and efficiency.

The role emphasizes data collection, reporting, and collaboration with multiple departments to support product delivery and business performance. Strong Excel and data tools skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations management or related field.
  • GPA minimum 3.1; transcripts may be requested during review.
  • Completed at least 1 year of undergraduate studies.
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools (Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic formulas) and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily operational tasks related to manufacturing throughput, material readiness, and production coordination.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze operational data to improve visibility and support decision-making.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics used by Operations leadership.
  • Participate in meetings with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams to support planning and follow-up actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on workflow efficiency, process consistency, or data accuracy.
  • Support documentation updates, standard work, and operational procedures to ensure alignment across teams.

Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Operations Intern eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, and Data Analysis. In this hands-on internship, you’ll support various operational tasks, data analysis, reporting, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. Interns will collaborate with multiple departments, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn how processes and data support product delivery, operational efficiency, and business performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily operational tasks related to manufacturing throughput, material readiness, and production coordination
  • Collect, organize, and analyze operational data to improve visibility and support decision-making.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics used by Operations leadership
  • Participate in meetings with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams to support planning and follow-up actions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on workflow efficiency, process consistency, or data accuracy
  • Support documentation updates, standard work, and operational procedures to ensure alignment and clarity across teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations management or a related field
  • A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
  • Completed at least 1 year of undergraduate studies
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools - Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y analysis etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) or experience working with ERP/MRP systems
  • Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management
  • Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to manufacturing, operations, or supply chain concepts through coursework or prior internships
  • Basic understanding of process improvement or Lean methodologies
Full time Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position: $17.00 - 38.00/hour
