Valar Atomics is seeking a Principal Nuclear I&C Engineer to own the reactor measurement architecture and instrumentation application strategy for a first-of-a-kind high-temperature gas-cooled reactor program. You will set design bases, drive qualification, and coordinate with vendors, regulators, and internal teams to advance safety-significant instrumentation.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and PE/license or equivalent.
• 10+ years in nuclear instrumentation, radiation detection, or reactor I&C.
• Ownership of instrumentation scope across programs with design authority.

Responsabilidades

• Define reactor measurement architecture across startup, intermediate, and power ranges.
• Own instrumentation design basis, qualification programs, and deviations.
• Lead vendor selection, qualification strategy, and integration into plant design.
• Serve as discipline design authority and final technical approval for safety-significant instruments.
• Represent the discipline in licensing reviews and cross-discipline forums.
• Mentor engineers, build capability, and ensure disciplined documentation.
